These improvised fuzes were assessed to be manufactured for incorporation into improvised munitions delivered by commercial off the shelf UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, or popularly called "drones"). Improvised fuzing can be extremely sensitive and hazardous to handle as they are often crudely manufactured with little to no consideration for long term storage, consistency in manufacturing and quality control management. The typically decentralised nature of manufacturing, and the wide variety of sources for parts & materials, often cause inconsistent performance during deployment as well.
