The assorted rows of mortar bombs depicted have a combination of safety devices still attached to their fuzing, damaged fuzing, or have had their fuzes completely removed. Several mortar bombs in the lower left corner of the image were assessed to have been modified to be incorporated into IEDs (Improvised Explosive Devices). The wide variety of conditions in which these mortar bombs have been consolidated is typically indicative of confiscated ammunition from destroyed weapon systems, illicit ammunition stockpiles, and/or separated from previously constructed IEDs.
