Title: Stack of assorted improvised mortar bomb casings

Description¹:

The rough and inconsistent machining, lack of any consistent obturation features (gas check bands), as well as absence of flash holes in the tail section, suggest that these are improvised mortar bombs. It was assessed that the tail fin units were either awaiting flash holes to be drilled, or a completely different propulsion system was intended to be used. (E.g. Low explosives / black powder with electric squib) Despite these mortar bombs being empty, it is still vital to remove and destroy them so as to prevent their future illicit use. The destruction of these empty casings also reduces the likelihood of unnecessary public reporting of false alarms, needlessly wasting first responder resources.
